FLAP's Work
Access to Financial Assistance
FLAP provides cash transfers for low-wage workers and their families facing financial hardship.
FLAP provides direct cash transfers to low-wage workers and their families experiencing financial hardship, helping them cover essential expenses such as rent, utilities, medical care, and school supplies. To build long-term stability, FLAP also connects families with trusted financial institutions that provide accessible banking services and ongoing financial support.
FLAP’s Cash Transfer Initiative delivers direct emergency aid to low-wage workers facing critical financial distress. By providing funds directly to families for immediate needs -such as rent, utilities, food, and medical expenses- FLAP prevents homelessness and food insecurity among vulnerable populations.
To date, FLAP has secured almost $7 million in financial relief, impacting approximately 56,000 community members (including $2.483,035M distributed to 26,000+ individuals during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic). These distributions paid for low-wage families’ bills, groceries, housing, and utilities so workers could stay in their homes and keep their families fed.
Beyond emergency aid, FLAP links families to financial institutions to foster sustainable financial empowerment.
