Amy Salazar

Bilingual Lead of Communications and Marketing

Amy Salazar was born and raised in Little Village, a vibrant Latine community in Chicago’s Cook County. Amy earned a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked with nonprofit organizations and combined her academic studies with practical experience in marketing and outreach to create engaging content and coordinate community events.As the daughter of Latine immigrants who worked tirelessly in construction and other low-wage industries, she grew up witnessing the challenges faced by workers in demanding and often unsafe conditions. This personal connection inspires her commitment to supporting underrepresented communities and amplifying their voices through strategic, mission-driven communication.As FLAP’ Bilingual Lead of Communications and Marketing, Amy leverages her expertise to enhance communication efforts that empower low-wage workers. She is proud to contribute to advancing FLAP’s mission of providing advocacy, resources, and support to those in need. Amy is fluent in both English and Spanish.
