Chicago Intern | The John Marshall Law School, 2012
“I finished a ten-week, full-time summer internship with FLAP, and I cannot stress enough how incredibly rewarding this experience has been for me. Heading into my third year of law school, I know that not only am I committed to public interest law; I am motivated to work for workers’ rights and equal justice in the workplace. FLAP has been absolutely invaluable in solidifying this commitment and passion within me.
Working at FLAP gave me the opportunity to learn a great deal about the area of employment law, as well as giving me practical legal experience in a variety of ways – with drafting complaints, doing damage calculations, and responding to interrogatories, among other things. Beyond the practical legal experience, however, this internship provided me with the feeling that I was contributing to bettering the lives of the hardworking and underserved migrant and seasonal farmworkers and landscapers in Illinois – and this is the element of my internship that meant the most to me.”
